All the bikes and components in the second edition of the women’s Tour de France
The 2023 Tour de France covers 956km (594 miles) over its eight stages, which start on 23 July, the day the men’s Tour de France finishes.
The penultimate stage finishes atop the Col du Tourmalet. All eyes will be on Annemiek van Vleuten of Movistar to see if she can achieve her aim of completing the Vuelta-Giro-Tour treble in 2023, prior to her retirement later this year.
Read on for a complete list of the bikes in this year’s Tour de France Femmes, along with the groupsets, tyres and other parts they’re fitted with. We also serve up our pick of some of the new bikes and tech to keep an eye out for at the 2023 Tour de France Femmes.
Tour de France Femmes 2023 bike brands
There are 22 teams competing in the 2023 Tour de France Femmes. Many are homologues of the men’s teams, so they have almost the same bikes and equipment, even if the sponsor names are slightly different.
That number comprises the 15 Women’s WorldTour teams and seven invited teams from the second tier of women’s pro racing.
Read on for more details of each team’s bikes, wheels and other kit.

What’s new in Women’s WorldTour tech?
The Tour de France Femmes is arguably the sport’s primary shop window.
With that in mind, we can be sure to see the teams and riders using the latest and greatest kit available from their sponsors.
In terms of new bikes, we expect to see the Cofidis Women Team aboard the recently released Look 795 Blade RS, and the fourth-generation Cannondale SuperSix Evo LAB71 being raced by EF Education-Tibco-SVB.
Israel Premier Tech Roland riders might be aboard the new Factor 02 VAM, which is being used by Israel-Premier Tech’s Simon Clarke in the men’s race.
Whether this counts as a new bike is debatable, but we’re also intrigued to see whether last year’s yellow jersey winner, Annemiek van Vleuten of Movistar Team, will be racing the updated Canyon Aeroad CFR that Mathieu van der Poel has been using this season.
Elsewhere, we hope Lidl-Trek riders will be treated to similarly outlandish custom paintjobs as the men’s team received for the Tour.
Is there any chance we might see a new Specialized Tarmac SL8 break cover at the Tour de France Femmes?
With pictures purportedly showing the new road bike having leaked from a Soudal-QuickStep team camp in recent days, AG Insurance-Soudal-QuickStep or Team SD Worx (both Specialized-sponsored teams) could be set to give it a race debut.
As always, we’ll keep our eyes peeled.
A rare Ultegra appearance
All the teams are on their brands’ top-tier groupset, with the exception of Team Coop-Hitec Products, who appear to be riding Shimano Ultegra. As we pointed out in our Shimano Ultegra review, it’s not much of a sacrifice because the internals are the same, Ultegra just weighs a little more.
There’s no pro-level 54/40t option for Ultegra chainrings either, but Dura-Ace chainrings are interchangeable.
SRAM dominates
It’s also notable that no women’s teams are using Campagnolo groupsets or wheels. AG2R Citroen Team, the only men’s WorldTour team using Campagnolo this year, has no equivalent women’s outfit and if there are women’s teams in the lower echelons riding Campagnolo, they haven’t been invited to the Tour de France Femmes.
Despite this, Shimano is less dominant in the women’s Tour than in the men’s. However, that free space is taken up by SRAM, with six women’s teams using Red AXS, versus three men’s teams.
SRAM makes its presence felt in the women’s race more than in the men’s with its other brands, Time pedals and Hammerhead computers, being more extensively represented in the Tour de France Femmes. Wahoo Speedplay pedals are used more in the women’s peloton too.
There’s also room for two-wheel brands that don’t make a men’s Tour de France appearance: Hunt and Mavic.
Tour de France Femmes 2023 bikes
All 15 Women’s WorldTour teams ride the Tour de France and every one of them gets the pick of the best bikes from their sponsors’ ranges. That includes all teams using 12-speed wireless/semi-wireless electronic groupsets on their road bikes and a choice of top-spec carbon wheels.
The seven invited Women’s Continental-level teams too are almost all on range-topping bikes and equipment.
Read on for a breakdown of who’s riding what.
